Using this Guide

The Trilobite User Guide is organized in a hierarchical fashion roughly based on the application's user interface. The Master Navigation Page shows the top-level topics in the hierarchy, which correspond to main interface panels or chapters, and is a good place to start if you wish to absorb the Guide as if it were a paper manual.

Topics on this page include:

Context Help Buttons
Navigation Buttons
Attention Markers
Keyboard Shortcuts
Feedback

Context Help Buttons

The Trilobite user interface contains an abundance of contextual help buttons. Clicking on one of these help buttons will navigate your web browser to the appropriate page within this guide, bypassing the need to search to a specific topic. For this feature to work, you must have a default web browser installed and configured on your system. To access to the most current help pages, your computer must be connected to the internet.

If you have selected the option to use only local help pages from the Help Menu, clicking a context help button may invoke a file open dialog labelled “Select User Guide root directory” which may be used to select the doc folder installed with the Trilobite application, in case that path has been altered after installation.

Navigation Buttons

The bottom and top of each page in the guide will have navigation buttons labelled “PREV”, “UP”, and “NEXT”. Pressing the PREV or NEXT buttons will allow you to move through the guide as if you were turning pages in a book. Pressing the “UP” button will allow you to step up through the topic hierarchy, eventually reaching the Master Navigation Page.
